Course Objective:

The aim of this training product is to provide theory and practical training to assist participants to achieve a sound knowledge of occupational health and safety management this is gained by receiving training in the following areas:

  • Health and safety legislation
  • Incident investigation
  • Risk management
  • Health and hygiene
  • Health and safety consultative arrangements
  • Ergonomics
  • Management of health and safety
  • Administrative arrangements
  • Plant and equipment
  • Hazardous substances and hazardous workplace activities
  • Specific workplace conditions

Course Prerequisite:

Participants are advised to hold intermediate numeracy, literacy and communication skills to read and comprehend written instructions.

Course Content: Nominal Hours – supervised 80.  unsupervised 20
 
This course consists of four units and participants must achieve competency across all performance criteria as detailed in each unit.

Code: BCG1000A – Carry out interactive workplace communication,
Code: BCG1001A – Carry out occupational Health and Safety requirements,
Code: BCG1002A – Plan and organise work
Code: TDTF497B – Organise occupational health and safety procedures in the
Workplace; and
Code: - HSM01 – Carry out Health safety procedures

Assessment:

Participants will be required to complete a written and practical examination to be deemed competent.
