Course Objective:

A person who holds a Certificate of Authority for appointment as a Workplace Health and Safety Officer must re-certify the qualification every five years.
This course is delivered over two days. This course will cover Recertification for Workplace Health and Safety Officer in all industries (services, general/manufacturing and building and construction).
The syllabus covers changes to the legislation and the inclusion of additional units introduced during the previous five year period. On day two there is two hour assessment based on an open-book examination of the learning outcomes of the course.

Course Prerequisite:

Given the technical nature of this program participants are required to be able to speak and write English.
Must have a Workplace Health & Safety Officer ticket issued by Department of Workplace Health & Safety.
 
Course Content

To develop the skills and knowledge required to carry out tasks
relating to:
Understanding legislated requirements;
- Identify and understand Workplace Health and Safety legislation;
- Emergency procedures, planning and follow up;
- Costs and system analysis; and
- Program review and discussion.
 
Assessment:

Two hour theory examination set by Government.
