Course Objective:

The aim of this training product is to provide theory and practical training in the following areas:

  • Identify types of plans and their functions
  • Recognise amendments
  • Recognise commonly used symbols and abbreviations
  • Locate and identify key features on a site plan
  • Identify project requirements including location, dimensions and tolerances of works identified
  • Read and interpret job specifications including standards, finishes and tolerances of identified works
  • Understand cross-referencing of plans

Course Prerequisite:

Participants are required to have intermediate numeracy, literacy and communication skills and be able to speak and write English and have a sound understanding of mathematics.

Course Content: 16 Hours
 
Participants must achieve competency across all performance criteria as detailed in Unit Code: BCGCM2001B attached to Unit Title: Read and interpret plans and specifications

Assessment:

Participants will be required to successfully complete a written Assessment to be deemed competent.
